Daughter's of Zion
Author Audrey Lea
"Into Thy chamber, sweet Holy Spirit,
Speak to me softly, as I close the door. Heavenly Lover, let Thy presence hover--Shakinah
unending, is all I long for."
Jesus often went away alone to gain strength. Many times, when alone, angels came and
ministered unto HIm. His strength was restored, and He was able to carry on much more
effectively. And so it is with us, we have to take time out to pray and be alone with
Jesus. There's nothing like being alone with God. Every lady needs a prayer closet; a
secret place, for private prayer, a certain corner, a particular chair or a room set apart
where you can spend time alone with God. A closet where you can daily shut the door to
pray to your Father in secret. Yes, we do need to pray with one another but the drawing
apart to pray in secret is perhaps the most vital type of prayer in which we can engage.
So--you can't spend great periods of time in a closet. Neither can I; but I have found
another kind of closet praying. At the kitchen sink, in the laundry room, at the sewing
machine, sweeping leaves, even in your car.
May we always pray for others during
the day. If God lays someone on your heart, you need to stop whatever you're doing and
find an intercessory place to pray.
Don't forget to pray for and with
your children every day. Get them up 10 minutes earlier than normal, gather them close to
you and talk to God. Ask Him to keep them from evil, dispatch angels to protect them.
Be sure and hug them and say, "I love you."
Weep for your children.
"And in the morning, rising up a
great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there
prayed." Mark 1:35
