Jesus...Risen SaviorFor God so loved the world
That he gave His only begotten Son...
Jesus Christ became the lamb
Thus the redemption plan had begun
At 33, he gave his life
To save a sinner such as I
The price was paid with His own blood
Out of love for me, he chose to die
By religious leaders, he was falsely accused
Jesus was an innocent man
Yet he surrendered to the will of his Father
To carry out the salvation plan
A robe of purple and a crown of thorns
They mocked Him as a King
They spit in His face and plucked his beard
Horrible treatment of a human being
He was beaten, yet opened not his mouth
And the flesh was torn from His back
Those stripes he bore are for my healing
39 times, that whip would crack
Though He was bleeding and could hardly move
In His arms, soldiers put a heavy cross
And led Him away to a hill called Calvary
Where he would die for a world that was lost
On the journey, many watched and jeered
And three times He would fall
The weight of my sins made the cross heavy
Yet He chose to carry them all
He stretched out His arms
And let soldiers nail Him to the tree
Then the cross was lifted up
For the onlookers, even His mother, to see
It was not the nails that held him there
Nor were the Roman soldiers to blame
His love for ME kept Him on that cross
For lost sinners, the lamb had been slain
Yes, Jesus, it was me
I was the hammer, I was the nail
And still you proved
Your love for me can not fail
The sky grew dark all over the land
Lightening flashed and thunder did roar
Satan didn't know it was the sound
Of Jesus knocking on hell's door!
He said Father forgive those that did this to me
He let out a cry and said IT IS FINISHED
With those final words He made the way
For my sins to be washed clean, forgiven, diminished
But the story did not end at the cross
No, death had no power over the one who came to save
3 days later He rose out of the tomb
For the final victory over death, hell and the grave
The resurrected Christ
He was alive again
Setting men free
From their bondages and sin
Celebrate the risen savior and Lord
He is no longer dead
Yes, Jesus is risen
Just like He had said
For those who make their self ready
He has gone to prepare a place
Obey the gospel of Jesus Christ
To be saved by His amazing grace
He did not leave us comfortless
Or without help to know the way
Let it be our earnest prayer
"Holy Ghost come down on us today"
The blood that was shed can still be applied
In Jesus name - sins are washed clean
So make yourself ready - He'll be back for us
His church - His bride - His redeemed
