Life's Journey
There are mysterious things about life's roads,
That I just don't comprehend.
Where they will lead and when will they end.
When I think my road should go straight,
It makes a quick turn.
And when it seems my road should go right,
It will turn left, for certain.
So, I've just about decided from experiences and such,
That life's roads are intended to teach us so much.
There are long, winding roads that seem to take forever,
To get us where we need to go.
And there are short cuts, though not many,
That are designed to get us there in a hurry.
So, instead of trying to figure out what road I'll journey today,
Lord, help me to trust in you to show me the way.
For you have already traveled my road,
And you know what I can endure and how heavy my load.
So, I'll place my life into your Master Plan,
And allow You to guide me with your nail-scarred hands.
For, I won't get lost, or go astray,
And when my road takes me to where I'm going,
I'll hear you say,
"Welcome home, my child, your journey's made,
Rest now, you're free to roam;
For, my child...you've finally made it home."
